Biomass Gasification Fired Genset Power Plant 200KW - 1000KW Combined Heat Power Technology

The objective of the biomass gasification process is the best possible conversion of solid biomass fuels into a high calorific product gas. Thereby, biomass reacts with a fumigator (air, oxygen, steam or CO2), which provide oxygen for the process. Due to the thermal cracking and the partial oxidation a product gas is formed. The composition of the product gas depends on the biomass fuel, the reaction conditions and the fumigator and consists of different concentrations of hydrogen (H2), carbon monoxide (CO), steam (H2O) and methane (CH4). In case of air as fumigator the product gas includes nitrogen (N2) as well. Char coal, ash with varying carbon contents and condensable low molecular hydrocarbons are produced besides the product gas. The char coal and the hydrocarbons (summarised as tar) are the products of an incomplete gasification.

The gasification process include four stages:

  • Drying
  • Pyrolysis
  • Oxidation
  • Reduction

Our biomass gasification process includes three steps. The First step is biomass gasification, which convert
biomass into syngas. The Second step is syngas purification. The producer gas coming from gasifier usually
contains contaminants including dust, coke, tar and etc. The contaminants will be removed by the purification
system to ensure normal operation of gas engine. The Third step is power generating in gas engine. The high
temperature exhaust gas may be reused by waste heat boiler to generate steam or hot water for civil or industrial
use). Steam turbine may also be considered to make a gas-steam combined cycle power plant, which will
increase the total efficiency.
Biomass Material:
One 2MW biomass gasification power plant will need dry biomass about 2200-3600kg/hour,according to 8000 running hours per year, then annual maximum consumption of biomass will be 28800 MT/year.
